What Data We Use and Why
Hosting
The hosting services we use provide the following services: infrastructure and platform services, computing capacity, storage space and database services, security services, and technical maintenance services that we use for the purpose of operating the website.
In this context, we, or our hosting provider, process inventory data, contact data, content data, contract data, usage data, metadata, and communication data from customers, interested parties, and visitors to this website based on our legitimate interest in providing an efficient and secure website in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 f) GDPR in conjunction with Art. 28 GDPR.
Access Data
We collect information about you when you use this website. We automatically collect information about your usage behavior and interaction with us and register data on your computer or mobile device. We collect, store, and use data about each access to our website (so-called server log files).
We use these log data without assigning them to you personally or creating other profiles for statistical evaluations for the purpose of operating, security, and optimizing our website. We also use them for anonymous recording of visitor numbers (traffic) as well as the scope and type of use of our website and services, also for billing purposes to measure the number of clicks received from cooperation partners. Based on this information, we can provide personalized and location-based content and analyze data traffic, troubleshoot errors, and improve our services.
This also constitutes our legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 f) GDPR.
We reserve the right to subsequently check log data if there is a justified suspicion of illegal use due to concrete indications. IP addresses are stored for a limited period in log files if this is necessary for security purposes or for service provision or billing, e.g., if you use one of our offers. After aborting the ordering process or after payment receipt, we delete the IP address if it is no longer required for security purposes. IP addresses are also stored when we have a specific suspicion of a criminal offense in connection with the use of our website. Additionally, as part of your account, we store the date of your last visit (e.g., during registration, login, clicking on links, etc.).
Cookies
We use so-called session cookies to provide our service. A session cookie is a small text file that is sent from the respective servers when visiting a website and temporarily stored on your hard drive. This file contains a session ID, which allows different requests from your browser to be assigned to a common session. This enables your computer to be recognized when you return to our website. These cookies are deleted after you close your browser.
We also use a small number of persistent cookies (small text files that are stored on your device), which remain on your device and enable us to recognize your browser on your next visit. These cookies are stored on your hard drive and delete themselves after the specified period. Their lifespan ranges from one month to ten years. This allows us, for example, to remember whether you are logged in.
The cookies store the following data and information:
- Login information
- Language settings
- Information about the number of visits to our website and use of individual functions
A unique identification number is assigned to the cookie when it is activated. Your name, IP address, or similar data that could be used to assign the cookie to you are not stored in the cookie.
If technically necessary cookies are involved, our legitimate interest in the use of cookies under Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 f) GDPR is to provide you with a functional website.
You can configure your browser to inform you before cookies are set and decide whether to accept them on a case-by-case basis, exclude cookies for certain cases, or prevent them entirely. However, this may limit the functionality of the website.
Data for Contractual Obligations
We process personal data required to fulfill our contractual obligations, such as name, address, and email address. The collection of these data is necessary for submitting offers.
The deletion of these data occurs after the expiration of warranty periods and legal retention obligations. Data linked to a user account remain stored for the duration of maintaining the account.
The legal basis for processing these data is Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 b) GDPR, as they are necessary for us to fulfill our contractual obligations to you.
Email Contact
If you contact us (e.g., via contact form or email), we process your information to handle the request and in case follow-up questions arise.
If the data processing is necessary for the execution of pre-contractual measures based on your inquiry or if you are already our customer for contract execution, the legal basis for this data processing is Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 b) GDPR.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies,” text files stored on your computer, to help analyze how users interact with the website. The information generated by the cookie about website usage is typically transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
Our legitimate interest under Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 f) GDPR is to understand how often and in what way our website is used.
Google has committed to the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Agreement. More information can be found here: https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active.
